Get On TV (And the AFN Community Online)

We all know when it comes to videos, bigger isn't necessarily better. Intimacy counts. Everyone has a story of the unknown performer they saw at some no-name dive who just blew their mind. And that performer had been gigging for years, playing to small (and loyal) crowds, just never hitting "The Big Time." At AFN, we want to see those artists, to showcase those artists - the ones who understand that it's all about the music.

So here's the good news: It's easy to get airplay on AFN. And not just at 4:00am, either. We want your stuff. We can't wait to see it, and to share it with the world. The only catch is that we do have some standards to maintain for broadcast quality television. Please review our Video Specifications. Our intake process takes a couple weeks, but that's how fast you can be on the air. And if you have a video or two that don't quite meet the broadcast standards, all is not lost - you can run your video 24/7 in the AFN Community right now. While you gear up to shoot an industry standard video, take a moment to look around. If you're an artist, you probably have a page (our AFN Community Pages have all the best features of social networking apps, but they're designed specially for recording artists - and they're free). The biggest artists all have pages, as do some of the most unknown. Here at AFN, we believe in allowing the music to speak for itself. Shooting that great video, believe it or not, is not that hard or expensive, if you plan it out. The good news is that we have plenty of resources to help, and a venue for you right now, whether it be broadcast television or streaming internet (which can, in many ways, be better than just television; in streaming format you can let others download your video to their pages at AFN Community, MySpace, or wherever). In any case, we want to see you find an audience, and we've got resources to help you do just that.
